Audible Alarm Configurations
I was looking to get some help related to configuring Audible Alarms. I know that Audible Alarms are configured according to the Alarm Priority.
The plant has currently two areas and they would like to have separate audible alarms for two areas the issue is that both area has a mix of same priorities configured. Is there any way we can configure two separate tones for the areas.
Thanks in Advance
The alarm's OPC severity attribute is used to derive Alarm Priority Level in System 800xA. Each Event Collector service group can, in theory be given a different Alarm Priority Mapping but the default is that OPC Servers of the same kind uses same prio mapping.
Workplace Audible Alarm can be set per system or per Workplace, so also the sounds. There is a "standard" aspect (root of Workplace Structure, or maybe in Library Structure) but if copied to a workplace object, it will override standard for that workplace.
In theory, the referenced .wav or .mp3 files required locally on each computer could be given same name but different content between different OP-stations, but why make it that complex.
Each Audible Alarm Configuration aspect (one per system or one per workplace object) points to one Alarm List that in turn may filter for different alarms using all available filter methods (attribute, category, prio, class, Objects and Descendants, PG2 reference, etc).
Same priority and op-station (workplace) -> same sound will play.
You must use different prio and/or different workplace to be able to play a different sound
