Reported events from WA-IM server to System Event list
After the IM Server relocation as a part of WA Pakscan replacement, it occasionally reports below message from "IM_Inform IT History_WA-IM" object:
- Failed to Extend HS_INDEXES Index Segment adding Message/VendorAttribute for 'IMMSGLOG_IP_172_16_68_51' (147474 times)
- IM Message Log: Messages may have been lost (bad category definition, bad message, or oracle error (147501 times)
What is your Oracle Instance Wizard saying about free space in the HS_INDEXES tablespace, what are the Auto Extend, Extend By and Max Size settings?
Maybe you need to give it a bit more room to extend into, or maybe auto-extend is off?
The Oracle Alert File C:\oracle\diag\rdbms\adva\adva\trace\alert_adva.log may contain more info.
In my own view, the most common IM problem, all categories is: a too large message log has been created in a too small tablespace. This typically results in the alert file being flooded by similar messages:
