Change the Client/Server IP to different subnet during upgrade.
Upgrading 800xa 5.0 system to 800xa 6.0 , clinet want to change existing client server ip address to different series. Existing controller network is 172.16.4.x/172.17.4.x.
Possibility of changing (172.16.0.0/22 & 172.17.0.0/22) client/server network to (172.16.8.0/22 & 172.17.8.0/22)
Any impact on system during upgrade ?

Hi,
I do not see any reason why this should be a problem. I did not perform the update myself yet, but we are going to do several projects in next months and we plan to change IP addresses of all nodes in all of them. Reading thru the Update manual I have not found any information that the new 6.0 system must be on the same area, I do not see any reason for it since it is a completely new system.
Hello
as you are using RNRP Implicit rules then it's no problem.

Unless upgrade is "online" there should be no problems.
RNRP can run on *any* IP address and *any* subnetwork mask, just as long as node number does not exceed 500.
Remember:
10.10.10.10/255.255.255.0 => node 10
10.10.10.10/255.255.252.0 => node 522
10.10.10.10/255.255.0.0 => node 2570
Implicit addressing (172.16.xx.yy/255.255.252.0) is preferred because of less work required. Implicit rule also reduces risk for errors in the configuration.
