Controller connecting to OPC but no data transfer taking place
I am having a problem with a PM861 controller. I've loaded the project into an integrated system and set up the OPC connection. After I have downloaded to the controller I see no errors but I get no data transfer. The customer has multiple CS, all show good OPC connections to both DA and AE. The system is 800xA SV5.1 FP4.
When I look at the communications stats on the OPC Server it shows zero transactions to this applications and the controller doesn't appear in the Total Communication Requirements table at the start of the logfile.
We have tried running the application from within another project and it communicates, when I ran the application on a single node system it all communicated perfectly. The customer downloaded an application from another project to the controller and communications worked.
I've checked the project settings against the other projects in the customer's system, they match.
When I check the OPC status of an item in the Plant Explorer an AddItem error is reported.
I've never seen anything like this before and, frankly, I'm at a bit of a loss. Has anyone else seen something like this?

I assume you have probed the AC 800M OPC server with some OPC client, e.g. advdsopcclient.exe part of standard install and seen that there is data available for this controller?
Try deleting and recreating the Data Source Definition aspect governing this controller.
Or rather add one more DSD one step below and check - if this make that branch working, there is some problem with inheriting the top DSD content to the children.
There are cleanup tools for experts available, but often the problem can be worked out by playing a bit with the DSD aspects (make new, change content of existing, back and forth, etc.)
If this does not work, we can give a shot with the more advanced stuff.
