AC450 Drive Communication: PC element DRI-R
My plant has dozens of ACS drives communicating over AF100 fieldbus to our AC450 controllers (Advant Master). Our most recent addition is an ACS880 configured as an engineered drive in a master-follower pair. The communication appears successful in most respects and we can operate the drive, but the :VALID pin on the DRI-R element is never set = 1 as expected.
According to the PC elements reference, the VALID pin indicates that DDS data is being updated, and hence the outputs are valid. We can see that data on the outputs is changing as the drive runs, yet VALID remains = 0.
My question then is what does VALID actually mean? What is the actual logic for setting VALID? Is it computed within the DRI-R element, or is it somehow received from the ACS drive? There are no communication faults shown on the ACS drive itself, so I suspect the DRI-R element itself is not performing as expected.
