Tx LED of CN2 of Secondary Controller is not glowing
This is happening in our site for 2 controllers. We have redundant AC800M controllers PM864 (R). xA system version is 6.0.2.
Diagnosis steps followed :
a. Checked online in CBM for Controller Hardware status. No isses noted
b. Checked in RNRP Fault tracer for any issues. Didn't find any
c. Tried pinging from CS to IP 172.17.82.X. Found no response for ping
d. Tried changing cable from CN2 port of Controller to Sec CN switch. No change in response
Can this be an issue with Controller Base ?
Can anyone suggest further doagnosis steps.
Activation of secondary Ethernet (CN2) require controller reset to take effect.
However, this is probably not the reason if CN2 has worked previously and just stopped.
Check for Network Storm Protection and RNRP Loop Detection in controller log.
Dual (simultaneous) loop on CN1 and CN2 may permanently block a port. This is solved in firmware 5.1.1-3. Not sure if 6.0.2 firmware has correction.
Dual loop often indicate unfavorable network design; eg CN1 and CN2 in same switch or in same network link via separate VLAN. ABB recommend running CN1 and CN2 on totally isolated network hardware.
Workaround if Loop Detection has failed to open a port: download a dummy change to RNRP, eg "Max No Of Remote Areas". NOTE: only apply this workaround from CBM connected to SAME RNRP area as controller! Then restore dummy change.
Hello, is it only Rx is glowing then Cn2 not made it true in CBM so make true and download and be careful any changes in Ethernet settings needs controller reset of primary by keeping standby controller off with ext/int bat removed and download the hardware changes and program again.
If both Rx and TX not blinking then the port is blocked due to network loop so check that no primary and secondary cables are connected to same sw. Once network loop is resolved port be will be open automatically after some time
