In SV5.0 sp2 rev C, PLC connect integrated with Honeywell opc server all digital signals showing comm bad
In one of our plant 800xa through PLC connect is integrated with Honeywell opc server via standalone rdm installed in our CS servers we can able to browse and read and write all analog signals where in all digital signals showing comm bad then in reading through advddopcclient and matrikon all digital signals reading good values so on changing over the OPC on Honeywell everything becomes normal (digital also starts reading the value).
What may be the reason why soft point server didn't fetch the values( xa 5.0sp2 rev C) any Ru or workaround for this problem
Strange indeed. If analog work it should not be any issues with DCOM and permission.
Did I get it correct: analog signals OK but digital signals return bad quality until they change state for the very first time after OPC item was added?
AdvDsOpcClient is not special in any way...
Which method are you reading via?
- OPC 1.0 or 2.0
- Active or inactive items/groups
- Advise (what I relate to as "subscribing")
See attached document for an overview of the different options.
I count to more than eight different ways... maybe Matrikon use ReadSync while PLC Connect most likely uses OPC 2.0, active items/groups and Advise-based (=real) subscription?
Please forward a case that my colleagues at the Control IT COE in Malmö can take a closer look at.
