Unable to acknowledge FF alarms
Hi,
We have a situation where we are unable to acknowledge FF related alarms, even when logged in as an administrator. Are there any particualr requirements for acknowledging FF alarms e.g. "H1 Device no present"?
Also we have some alarms for FF that are dated 31 Dec 1971 - which again we cannot acknowledge - any advice on how we should handle these? Why would they have this date?
Any help appreciated,
Rob

Acknowledge is normally tied to the same permission as operation.
More likely you have an issue with the FF OPC AE server. The bad time add suspicion thereof.
System 800xA is just a client to the OPC AE server and can not force an alarm to acknowledge, just humbly and gracefully ask for it to become acknowledged.
I can't tell if Refresh shall be enabled for FF OPC AE. But if it should, you must have it on. Refresh is a mechanism to resolve things like this but is not offered by all OPC AE servers. If enabled, refresh will take place at startup and failover. With no refresh, "Delete Alarm" is an option to remove an obsolete alarm. NOTE: with refresh enabled, "Delete Alarm" is no good since the alarm risk returning at next refresh.
A third party OPC AE client could theoretically be a method to check content of the OPC AE server.
Ultimately, file a support case with your regional ABB support center.
