AC800M controller system alarm severity
We want to have an alarm generated when both controllers in a redundant pair are down or disconnected. There is such an alarm generated on the controller object in the control structure, but I can't figure out where the severity is configured.
The alarm's event details are:
Priority Level: 1
Category: System Alarm for SoftAlarms
Event Type: Condition Event
Message: Network Connection to Controller_Name Lost
The severities configured on the controller in Control Builder (AE System AE high severity etc.) don't have any effect on it and I can't seem to find anywhere else it might be configured.
I can change the associated priority by changing the priority mapping for softalarms in the library structure but this is less than ideal.
By looking at the event details you can tell that the event does not originate in AC 800M.
The AC 800 OPC AE server uses "System Condition Event" for hardware alarms.
Category here is "System Alarm for SoftAlarms" which is a soft alarm originating in the System 800xA HMI itself.
In fact, this soft alarm is raised via an API call from the System Status service when RNRP signal that network connection is dropped or resumed on single or all paths.
The OPC Severity for this condition (Network Connection Lost) is hardcoded to 900 regardless if a client, server or AC 800M controller is behind the node.
I agree that it might be appropriate to have an adjustable OPC Severity and Class here. However, this must probably be raised as a request for enhanced functionality. Please speak with your regional ABB sales representative.
