Correct way of Testing of DP840
Hi, I am doing hardware loop test for DP840 with AC800M, as this card has either DI input or Freq, I would like to ask what meter can I use to simulate the frequency / pulse so that i can see in the CBM? For freq i know in CBM is displayed as RealIO, i tried to use a multimeter to inject a certain Hz but the value does not display?
I know for the DI i can just short and the True / False will toggle but I am not clear about the Freq / Pulse. As in the Settings i can choose for it to be freq or pulse setting.
For very simple test of frequency input you can simulate pulses by fast switch on/off of external +24VDC to the input (manually).
Other possibility is to connect transistor output (DO810) to the freq input of DP840.
Then you need to create a simple logic (pulse generator) to activate/deactivate the output. For example pulse 100ms/ pause 100 ms / with cycle time 50 ms.
Both described methods are just indicative simulation.
For the real and precise testing you need frequency generator with output 24VDC (may be 12V is also possible mode for DP840).
