ABB 800Xa ver 5.1 error code 0x8004AB81 "insufficient license quantity remains for the requested feature"
Hello,
i have noticed a stragne behaviour of the 800XA licensing system i have installed in my plant.
Systems contains 2 servers 1 EWS and 2 operator clients . 1 DCS PLC( AC800M_QUANTA = 67) , 1 ESD PLC ( SIL 3)( AC800M_QUANTA = 67) and 2 FG PLC's ( SIL3) ( AC800M_QUANTA = 67) ( see atached files including license server log). The system users are configured 1 ABb800XA Installer and 3 operator users ( operator 1 , operator 2 , operator 3).
I have a license error pop up showing up everytime the same user is logged on 2 different nodes ( server , EWS , OWS). As you can see in the log attached.
When users logged on different nodes are different the pop up does not appear and the License Status viewer shows no warnings/errors.
I am not really sure that this waring is done by this behaviour but i noticed that the op up appears in these conditions. Maybe it is a coincidence and the warning is because of poorly configured and dimensioned system but the lack of events from the log in periods that the installed user is logged only on one node makes me think that the cause of the warning is caused by that.
I will try to upload the entire license system log as soon as possible.

Any workplace (incl Plant Explorer, Engineering Workplace, etc) will drain OPERATOR_WPL if used to view any of the following:
- Alarm or event list
- Trend
- Faceplate
Use Licence Assignment Editor on CLS Server to track licenses in use. Allocated licenses are listed incl node name where request is made from when clicking Diagnostics button at bottom of page.
Close workplaces until count is low enough to fit in licensed count.

done in bad manner generated by the faulty configuration of the user system / workplace assignment.

This is due to the fact that on we have logged in the same user on different nodes in the system and to the fact these users have the same workplace assigned.
To avoid this each node has to have a unique user logged and a specific workplace configured for each of these users. If not the License server sees the multiple request of the same aspect as a license infringement and sends that warning.
I noticed when from plant explorer choosing different workplaces each time i chose another workplace a different warnind appears in the license status viewer.

Possible solution: for the warning to disappear the user accounts must be configured correctly and also each specific workplace for each user account must be configured correctly. Also on each node of the system there must be logged in a unique user.
I have no acces to the server where the LAE is installed for the moment. But i can see the running workplaces aspect in the workplace strucuture.
For example i did a test yesterday to compare 2 different workplaces that had different icons. Under you can see the running on the system :
Keep in mind that i was using the EWS ENGCLIENT so that is why 4 workplaces are used by it ( OperatorW12 / Plant explorer/ Plant explorer/ Operator workplace). Normally it should use only one workplace ( engineering).
What i wanted to ask is that if the actual configuration is correct : 2 users that use the same workplace logged on multiple nodes?
