How do I prevent the Windows Taskbar from showing up?
System:
- Win 7, 32-Bit, SP1
- Compact HMI800 V5.1
- 2 monitors
Configuration:
- The HMI800 application is running on one monitor, another application on the other
monitor.
- The monitor with the HMI800 application is the main display (i.e. holding the Windows
Taskbar).
- The Windows Taskbar is configured as 'autohide' and 'locked'.
- The HMI800 application is running in full screen mode (Operator Workplace Mode).
Problem:
When I operate the non-HMI800 application (means clicking somewhere on it) and then move the mouse back to my HMI800 application and move the mouse down to the bottom, the Windows Taskbar shows up unintenionally, see attached screenshot.
As long as I just operate the HMI800 application, the Windows Taskbar never shows up as it is supposed to be.
How do I prevent the Windows taskbar from showing up in this case?
Thanks for answering this question.

The first 5.1 version of 800xA had problems with auto-hide of the Windows Taskbar due to that Microsoft had made changes in their APIs. Auto-hide worked as long as focus was kept within the workplace, but if you opened another window, e.g. Task Manager, etc. a few pixels of the Taskbar became visible and by moving the mouse to the bottom of the screen the full Taskbar was displayed.
I believe this problem became corrected in 5.1 RevA oir possibly 5.1 RevB.
I'm also unsure if this correction propagated to CHMI 5.1 (which has two variants, CHMI 5.1A and CHMI 5.1B).
I suggest that you contact your local ABB support center.

Thank you Stefan
Considering your answer I checked the CHMI800 version. I found that we have 3 'identical' versions showing different copyright periods (see attached picutre). The version showing 'copyright @ 2004-2011 ABB' works fine (the Windows Taskbar will never show up in Operator Workplace), the other two versions don't. A bit surprising is that the version working fine is not the latest one but the one in the middle.
I will try to report this so it will be corrected again.
Thanks again.
