MP200 DSCA160A Reprogramming
Hi Stefan,
I am working on a fairly "old" MP200 system with a failed DSCA160 programmable interface card. We need a method to transfer an old custom protocol file to a replacement DSCA160 FPB. We are using an ES with PU516 PCI board, running ONB3.0. The PU516 does not support ETTY command, so we cannot transfer the file to the DSCA160 using TTY through the PU516 serial port. What is the recommended method to reprogram DSCA160 PROM now that ETTY is discontinued?
We are trying HyperTerm, Putty via standard COM port of ES. We can get to the session ">" prompt, but then not sure how to complete the file transfer.
Regards,
Paul

The PU516 has one MB300 port and one RS232 serial port. It does support the ETTY command.
Make sure you SLTARG 1,1 to connect the PU516 board to itself, SLLEV SYST to go to system level and then ETTY.
It is possible you dont have the correct command processor loaded. Check your ONB bin directories for *.CP files and LOCPSET <cp file> for the expert commands.
Sorry, I dont have an ES available to test properly and give you an exact step-by-step
I found this attached document in an archive left by a now retired colleague. It seem to detail how to dump/load content of the DCSA160.
Seems like you need a terminal emulator with ability to send and receive files. I'm unsure how this is done with PuTTY, I saw some references to pscp.exe (part of the PuTTY suite) but I have never tried this myself.
If you need more help, please file a support case with your regional ABB support center.

Never seen/done this myself. Will try to reach a colleague tomorrow.
