OPC Server compact ac800m
Hi,
Is it possible to install and use the opc server for a compact structure (ac800m) in one pc and the compact control builder in another machine?
I've installed alredy all softwares but I can't connect the opc server with the controller. I know that the opc server needs the projects files so I tried to copy this files but it did not work.
Thank you.

you can configure the OPC server to see the original files in computer you have control builder.
It works, but each time you do one download to controller. do you will need to update the link to control builder project files.
if do not update this link the server OPC will fail
I may be totally off (Control IT is not one of my core competence areas) but you may perhaps be able to use the 800xA version 2.0 (aka System Baseline 2) method to tie in the AC800 OPC Server.
Back in SB2, the OPC server tried to "FTP" to the CBM who made the application download so the installation instructions for CBM in SB2 included to setup an FTP server in the CBM node. It won't cost that much to test it (please refer to AC800 OPC server installation instructions in SB2)
I know that I've seen the old error message "No FTP server available" also in the later versions of AC800 OPC server so there seem to be some parts of that old SB2 code still in the build.
But, this is something I have no real cover for bringing to you. Just make a test - perhaps it works. Adding and possibly removing the FTP server should not harm anything but consuming a few minutes from your daily schedule.
Also, I think that manually copying the .cdo, etc. files from CBM -> OPC server working folder should work. Did you copy the correct files? Have a look at a working OPC server (e.g. take notice of what files it refreshes after an application download from CBM)

Hello
First you need to set the network which shares the controller project files to pc which running opc . Check the aceesibility of files by browsing in network . Then download the application in controller . This will genearte the files required for OPC . Now try to connect the opc . then there is pop up of window , which needs the files form program.
Browse the required files in network . Once your OPC gets healthy , save the configuration form File menu . Then select the same saved configuration file in autoload configuration from setting menu in OPC .
After this exercise every time your OPC gets automatically healthy whenever your PC gets restarts .
This is described in Appendix A in the Getting Started book (document number 3BSE041584*).
Please see the sub-section "Multi-User Configuration".
First set up a shared folder, can be on any node - for exampe on the PC running the OPC Server.
Then define the path to this share in the OPC Server and Control Builder Setup Wizards.
Now, the OPC Server will find all files automatically after each download of changes.

I see now that I forgot one BIG detail:
I'm using the softcontroller. When using just local machine (opcserver and controlbuilder on same machine) matrikon client, elipse e3 and Ifix were able to see the variables.
