Currently I am making displays in Freelance Engineering 2016, we are using OPC Items to create the displays and faceplates, the faceplates in OPC_FB-LIB (OPC_FB-CLASS), my question is:
Can I assign two or more tags OPC in one faceplate (OPC_FB-Class) in Freelance or call a faceplate another faceplate ?
the tag instantiation process relies on the common part of the item name that includes the tag name. While during the class definition you would be free to select components form different tags, the instantiation would fail, because those components would not be found with the same item name part (the tagnames would differ).
While in a Graphic display you could define a dynamic element that could call a faceplate, that action is not offered in the faceplate configuration.
If you use the OPC items from another Freelance system to see their faceplates in your system, you could create UFBs in the remote system that contain the tags you want to combine. Then in your local system the UFB would appear with the same item name part and you could create a faceplate in your local system, that contains two or more tags from the remote system.
