how to set maximum limit for alarms
Can you please help me out with the information that how much maximum number of alarms can be viewed at once and at can be stored.
One thing is for alarm n event list configuration, for the same aspect under column we can set VIEWABLEMESSAGES to maximun of 500. Now if we suppose this number of alarms are generated in 3 hours then how can i see the previous alarms. I heard we can store upto 10000 alarms. How to do it and where to see the stored alarms.

An alarm or event list may present up to 500 lines. If filter match >500 the Page Down button will light up. Each click bring another 500 into view, but still a list can only hold a maximum of 500 lines.
For obvious reasons, its better to create multiple filters and lists to break down the stored amount of alarm and events. Eg into process sections or other filter criteria.
Alarm Manager hold 10.000 alarms, FIFO. A stable, but not returning to idle alarm risk being flushed if >10.000 alarms exist in the system. ABB strongly recommend to *not* enable the "Make new alarm each time a condition go active" setting - it quickly burn up storage.
System 800xA has no "alarm history" feature; this is the duty of the event list!
-> use event lists to see past alarms!
Event Storage store 10.000 events per event category. This value can be increased to 50.000 to prolong the retention period. An IM can be made to hold up to 12 million events.
