What happen to AfwSurrogate Server if both aspect server is down
What will happen to AfwSurrogate opc , if redudant aspect server is down.
For thirdparty OPC access ABB has provided, Sperate Application server redudant
No functionality work if *all* aspect servers are down. At least one aspect server must be available for System 800xA to operate.
The surrogate OPC server is available in *all* 800xA nodes.
The surrogate act as a client to the system, just as a workplace act as a client.
A server node is in fact both a server *and* client meaning that apart from running services, it can also host a client, e.g. a workplace or a surrogate OPC server.
If you decide to stop a server (Config Wizard->System Administration->Stop Server or Microsoft Windows Administrative Tools->Services->Stop ABB Service Manager service) it is still capable of hosting a client, e.g. a workplace or a surrogate OPC server.
A Configuration Wizard->Maintenance->Maintenance Stop will stop everything in a node; including the client parts.
Depending on what you shut down and how you shut down different things will happen.
Stop Server on one aspect server (of many) -> more or less nothing happen except for redundancy will decrease. Any client running in the stopped server will continue to work, including a surrogate OPC server.
