AC800M PM864 Backup interface disabled
Dear all,
I have a PM864 AC800M controller which is alarming "No communication backup CPU" on CBA. I have cheked that primary network of backup unit is OK, however, redundant network is not pinging. On controller´s log is showing the message "backup interface disabled". I have tried to reset backup unit and it does not take effect.
Someone have any idea to help me ?
Thanks in advance.

The backup interface disabled in factory default.
In redundant configuration, primary need to be able to ping secondary. Backup interface must be configured for this to work.
Easiest method is using Default Rule in which secondary becomes with primary IP + 0.0.2.0.
Eg if primary is given 172.16.80.151/172.17.80.151 and 255.255.252.0 the backup will automatically take 172.26.82.151/172.17.82.151.
Configuration only possible with serial cable. Controller reset is required.
Hi,
there is a chance of network loop or network storm.
due to this problem the secondary prot will block.
Check rnrp error messages
Hello,
By default secondary port is disabled so you have to enable secondary port via CBM Ethernet2 settings ensure while doing this secondary/standby cobtroller should be sw off mode then connect cable and download hardware settings (ensure backup interface settings 0.0.2.0 default method enabled via configuration tool while setting the IP address) and reset the primary controller once and check the ping.
Note:any change in the IP or subnet needs controller reset
This controller was working with lost packages, trying to solve the packet lost problems, we performed INIT on the controller.
After this procedure, ping the controller occurs during startup and stopping working after the synchronization with the main CPU. Does anyone have any idea of this problem?
