Will we loose all operator setpoint if we load a new Freelance configuration?
One of our customers has a redundant Freelance AC800F to operate his boilers. We must add modbus communication to it and program data exchange with another system who acts as a modbus master.
On-site we must power off one controller at a time to install the new serial card. Then, we must program new communication hardware and function blocks.
Is it the kind of change that requires a full download? And will we loose all operator setpoints?
We want to minimize time on-site and program those changes at our office and load them on-site once the new hardware will be installed. Will we loose all operator setpoints?

It depends on the type of program changes You are making (do You add new variables etc). Consult with attached file to see if You will need a full download.
Even if a full download will be unavoidable You can still upload current block parameters in commisioning mode, then import changes from files prepared at office and then load them to controllers.
Hope it helps.

yes, if you add modbus slave interface FB in hardware structure and read/write block in program controller needs full download, regarding setpoint you are using internal or external stpoints ? The external once will get values even after whole station download from whereever pin is connected, incase of internal once if SP is changed interim and you want those changes permanent.
Follow this In current running state you load all objects from menu option 'system' > show all objects > Load this will will load all temparaty corrections into controller. as well via menu option load > parameters( select only deference)> correct will save those temparary changes in project database. but carefull makesure what all changes you want to make parmanent.
This way you will not loose your values. also set outputs for safety value i.e hold last value so that if any short interruption there is no disturbance.
