No Audible alarm from level
I have a level that is not generating any audible alarms when it goes either high or low. Other levels are working fine (in same applicaion on same controller).
On the faceplate when I force the level above the high alarm limit I can see the checkbox indicating that it is in a high alarm condition, but none of the alarm lists are being populated with the alarm information (and hence why I believe there is no audible alarm).
I forgot to mention that the HH alarm works. Its just the H and L alarms that don't generate an audible alarm.
I am using an M controller.
All help appreciated
It could easily be any one of hundreds of possible causes. But it's most likely a configuration issue with that Alarm Condition.
Check AGAIN the Alarm Priority settings, alarm limits, class etc and ensure that these are all correct. Check filtering in the Alarm Lists and that the alarm not being filtered out.
Check also the current Alarm Condition state an ensure that it is updating as expected when the alarm triggers / clears / is acknowledged etc.
(And dont forget to check that the operators didnt just silence all alarms by turning down the volume. This is actually pretty common)
I have this working now.
It appears that it was the CondName property for each of the alarm levels. I had set a value that exceeded the 15 characters and that stopped it from getting to the alarm list.
That explains why the High High was working - I had not put anything against the CondNameHH property (only the CondNameL & CondNameH).
It was not class (all at default of 1) and not other setting was changed. Some of the condition names had spaces as well and we suspected that it may have been the whitespace causing the issue, but testing proved otherwise.
Hope that helps someone in the future
