High availability for non-safety and redundant PROFINET safety modules
Hi,
We have some S500 non-safety I/Os and some safety I/Os. is there any way to acheive high availability for non-safety I/Os through CS31 bus and redundant PROFINET configuration for safety I/Os? If not, is there any solution or a better one?
Thank you
Answers
Yes you can acheive high availability for non-safety I/Os through CS31 bus as shown below
Whereas redundant PROFINET configuration may not possible for safety I/Os because the term Integrated Safety applied for AC500-S Safety PLC means One PROFINET IO fieldbus is used for Safety & Non-safety communication.
Safety & non-safety I/O modules can be mixed on local I/O-Bus both in central & remote configuration but SM560-S Safety CPU needs a Non-safety CPU e.g. PM573, PM583 or PM592 to communicate to Safety I/O modules.
PROFINET Master Communication Module (CM579-PNIO) shall be used on Non-safety CPUs to transfer safety data to PROFINET slaves where the PROFINET slave devices CI501, CI502, CI504 or CI506 can be used to attach Safety I/O modules in remote configurations.
For more datails please see attached Safety User Manual
As I am not able to attach any image or manual so please check with following links
