CI854 maximum load
I have many new profibus divices that I need to add to an controller. I don't know if I need to add a additional CI854 or if I can use the existing one.
How can I find out the actual load of a CI854.
Answers
Hello Lukas,
its not a question of the load of the CI854 Master more a question of Profibus limitations (# of Slaves, # of Segments, Topology, Distances, etc.) and Performance of the complete Profibus Line (cycle times)
Check the ABB Manual "AC800M Profibus DP Installation - 3BDS009029-600"
The current measured cycle time of the Profibus can be measured by using the AC800M Web Interface.
For details check the ABB Manual "ABB Profibus DP Configuration - 3BDS009030-600"

Described in the manuals:
Up to 32 nodes (master and slaves) can be grouped in a single segment. When using
more than 32 nodes, several segments linked to each other through repeaters (power
amplifiers) are needed.
