Connect Controller PM865 with HMI via OPC Data Access Server
I have established a Client Server Architecture and trying to communicate PM865 controller (ESD PLC) with HMI by using OPC Data Access server. After entering the IP of PM865, controller it is showing healthy status in OPC server but it is not communicating with HMI. Please guide how to resolve this issue? your co opeartion shall be highly appreciated?

Hello,
You can´t connect directly to one AC800M controller with OPC connection. What you need to do is to install ABB OPC Server för AC800M on a computer connected to the controller. Instance the controller in the OPC server software and when connection is established you can connect to the computer IP running OPC server with your third party HMI via OPC.
Good luck!

Hello
I have faced the same issue.
Infact for two projects, we were trying to communicate a ABB Safety PLC with GE & Honeywell on OPC basis.
Both had issues for communicating their HMI.
There must exist other perfect solutions to it(which Senior Engineers can suggest), but i followed below path...
You may connect to OPC server with some way, but the problem is that if you give a new download, then your Remote system( HMI) will not get updated itself and will not make its OPC high by itself.
PS - everytime you make a program change, you will have to manually make HMI OPC high.
Thus, I have solved my case like this :
1) First in your Safety PLC PC, make its OPC healthy ok.
2) Installed OPC Tuneller( Matrikon) in both systems.
3) Installed ABB OPC software in HMI PC.
4) Cloned the same ID here & searched for that IP.
5) Now take a testing OPC tool and check in its Local/Remote Severs, that ABB OPC should be available.
6) My OPC went OK with this.
Best of luck

What sort of HMI ?, 800xA / Compact HMI or some third party product ?

Please precize your question. In case OPC is in a good status, most probably you need to configure correctly the communication channel and tags in your HMI
