Embedded browser version
In 800xa we use Web Page aspects to show webpages. Those Web Page aspects refer to an embedded browser which seems to be very old. We ran a script to identify the browser version and it seems that the version is IE7. IE7 is released in octobre 2006!! Is it possible to update this embedded browser (IE7) to a newer one because it's almost impossible to show webpages developed with modern development software.
Here's the identification data of the embedded browser.
Browser name = Microsoft Internet Explorer
Full version = 7.0
Major version = 7
navigator.appName = Microsoft Internet Explorer
navigator.userAgent = Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 7.0; Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; Trident/4.0; SLCC2; .NET CLR 2.0.50727; .NET CLR 3.5.30729; .NET CLR 3.0.30729; .NET4.0C; .NET4.0E)
I think there is no such "embedded browser" option, this is the same configuration that shows the actual Aspect Views and most probably cannot be changed.
Instead you could start the actual Internet Explorer (or whatever browser is installed on your client ) via the "Windows Application" Aspect, specifiying Command e.g.
"C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" and argumens e.g. "www.abb.com"
We got the information below to solve our browser version problem. The only remark to the links below is that we had to add the registry key to HKey_Current _User instead of HKey_Local_Machine otherwise the browserversion was not updated.
Here's the information of ABB support.
The Web Page Aspect uses IE Web Browser control and according to MicroSoft , the default rendering mode would be IE7 even IE versions above IE7 are installed on the machine e.g. IE8 or IE9..or any higher versions of IE.
The customer is using web applications developed with IE9 and cannot be rendered correctly because of the above. So according to the below links a registry setting to be done to change the default rendering to any installed versions of IE.

Hope this links helps you to view the web browser files.
