FatcoryTalk View SE and ABB AC800M
i'm looking for a communication way between a Rockwell HMI (fatctotyTalk View SE) and the AC800M ABB PLC. I have to install OPC Server for AC800M on the PC where's already installed the HMI (used as client)?
Thanks in advance

Yes, absolutely you have to install OPC Server for AC800M(Compact) where your Factory TalkView SE is installed.
then connect your AC800M Controller in OPC Server for AC800M.
FTView SE can communicate with multiple OPCs along with RSLinx Enterprise.
Steps for connecting AC800M Controllers to AB HMI:
Step 1: Create a new OPC Server in your FTView SE Project and give the OPC Server Name(ProgID) in the dialogue box shown below.
Step 2: After that you have to create tag database and there you can select your OPC Server for each variable. Example shown below
Step 3: And then you'll get the AC800M Controller's Applications and its variables like in next dialogue box:
Hope the information will be helpful to you.
Rockwell HMI (fatctotyTalk View SE) has an internal OPC server.
and you need to have OPC Server for AC800M on the PC.
And you need to have LinkMaster (Kepware Product) in order to arrange a link bitween two OPC servers. A link is between a tag from one OPC server side to another tag where located on other OPC server.

Every OPC server has a capacity limitation.
Be sure to find out the destination OPC server's capacity limit and optimum transfer method as the OPC interface offer multiple metods for reading and writing.
Overloading the OPC server can endanger activity attempted by other clients, eg an operator trying to read a value or change a setpoint, etc.
