There are many questions that can be asked about the installation of the DCN software, however, I will just touch on the primary ones.
1- It is suggested the the DCN software NOT be installed on an Aspect Server. It should only be installed on a Connectivity Server or a standalone DCN node, (Application Server). If there are a redundent pair of CS nodes, it can be installed on both. The RTDB database requires constant disk activity, and this is not conducive with the proper operation of an Aspect Server, which also has high disk activity.
2- The RTDB database is present on both the DCN and the History Server node. For this purpose, the drive that contains the ..\RTDBData directory, usually the D:\ drive by design, must be configured to 64K Block size. If there was already a D:\ drive on the Aspect Server, this may not be compatible.
3- Also by design, it is typical to have an E:\ drive on the DCN node that will contain the ...\EssentialBackup directory for the automatic backing up of the RTDB database.
4- The ...\RTDBData directory contains a sub-directory, ...\RTDBData\diag, that contains log files to track both installation and ongoing performance data. These will have to be examined for content and errors.
Finally, it is suggested that a Support Case be opened with your local RAC so that any actions can be properly monitored. ZIP and return all files and directories under the ...\RTDBData\diag directory, and include when opening a Support Case.
