800xa primary & secondary both server are suddenly restart
In our plant using we are using 800xa service 800m controller.we have primary and reduntant server.both server are suddenly restart. some times primary server only restart in automaticaly.reduntant server taking over the control, but operating station is not working for reduntant server control. servers are individual ups power supply. i could not find any reason. how can i found the problem and retify.
In my humble opinion, spontaneous restarts are seldom due to problems in System 800xA.
If Microsoft Windows Server operating system crashes (blue screen) or restarts for other reasons, you are better off contacting Microsoft Support or maybe the vendor of the hardware (HP, Dell, etc).
If the secondary server does not take over when the primary is unavailable it could indicate a problem with the 800xA system or how it has been setup.
Several factors play part in failover - one thing you could verify is what happens if you deliberately shutdown the primary server. In this "ideal" scenario, the secondary should step in and mount full client load. Does this test work out or not?
Failover might not take place immediately in case of "partial" malfunction, e.g. a server slowly bleeding to death due to memory leakages, hard disk failure. The best possible "failover scenario" is when the failing server just disconnect from the Ethernet network. With RNRP configured correctly, failover should be initiated in the matter of a few seconds, or even faster.
I recommend contacting regional ABB support center, or the ABB group delivering the system to you and ask for assistance.
