ABB ACS355 Installation
Would like to talk to an ABB representative that can discuss/explain the proper installation procedure for installing ABB ACS355 controller. I'm with CALOSHA State Mining and Tunneling inspector and have recently inspected a site that is utilizing this product. The electrical to this unit is furnished by conduit that stops about 2" from the bottom of the controller, 7 sire then split out of the end of the conduit and are inserted into the various opening in the bottom of the ABB unit. This is a 480 volt unit.
My question is, is this the proper way to install? Is there a cover plate that is provided to keep personnel away from the exposed wiring?
Thanks much for your quick response. Take care

Hi
the drive is mounted inside a electrical box?
You can find at the follow link one video about the correct installation of ACS355 ABB drive, inside one electrical box. The ABB ACS355 is performing IP20 protection degree (UL open) and for this needed to install in protected site (el. box)

In the main catalog of the product, you can find however the instruction for wall mounted (NEMA 1 /UL Type 1) with specified kit when you need more protection. Or up to 7,5 kW, you can obtain IP66/IP67 degree protection (UL Type 4x).
The brochure is in the attached file for your consultation.
Hope this help you

Dear user,
Please note that this is an open question and answer web-forum about ABB Control Systems. And there are thin chances of getting answered on other topics(related to power and drives).
We strongly recommend to get connect with your local abb sales/service contact.
Thanks for your understanding.
