800XA Domain part of forest(child domain)
What happen when an existing 800xa system part of seperate Domain, is made part of an existing Domain Child ( Part of Forest)
1. Any imapct on 800XA System ( No change in the username and passwords)
2. SIL3 application running in AC800HI
I know some installations where the system is put in a sub domain along with the 800xA Service Account and computers while the engineers and operators are put in the top domain.
This seem to work well but there exist no official documentation available from ABB on how to configure this setup.
- operator A
- operator B
- engineer C
- 800xA Service Account
- 800xA Servers and client nodes
SUB DOMAIN has "TRUST" to TOP DOMAIN
It depends ....
Is the top level domain an Industrial IT domain used only for 800xA Systems ? Then, as Stefan says, you might get this to work.
If the top level domain is used for anything other than 800xA systems, then your domain will quite possibly break ( because it uses rules, policies and patches not approvved for 800xA and is run by administrators not trained in managing 800xA ). This could cause your 800xA system to fail catastrophically. This would be sub-optimal.
