Panel 800 - RUN mode not working?
I've got syphony, PM876 controller and Panel PP882 conected to this controller via profibus and working as a profibus slave. DCS side is configured... gsd imported... memory maps created and I am able to exchange data both sides and control the process. For configuration PP882 i am using profibus EM. My panel Builder 800 version is 6.0-2 Build 6.15.5751.0.
Distance between my panel and the place where i am working is more then 2km, so i decided to use fiber-optic and media-converters to connect to the panel and do all changes this way. Unfortunatelly, i can't start RUN mode... to see what is going on with the program after my changes. I am able to connect... and load the program, but when i am trying to check the resultes and click run... i am reciving fallowing error:
Updating firmware failed - ciX-dp module not found!
... and after that, inside the online window in the top left corner message:
Controller1: Call to CreateFile() returned error 2!
Before that I was downloading the program to the panel localy... then i was checking results standing in front of PP882, so i didn't even realize that there is option for doing that other way. Finaly i realized RUN is /maybe/ the right feature.
Am i right? Does anyone explain me why my RUN is not working?

RUN is for running on your PC
(running like a panel but on your PC, if you have the right communication functionality on the PC then it could work, but it wont for Profibus since you don't have the EM in the PC).
To remotely check your panel use the VNC app Remote Access Viewer, deliverd on the media.
Thanks for your answer... it's really valuable for me.
I have checked Remote Access Viewer and... it works. Solution good enough to take care about my legs in this situation.
However, could you be so kind and tell me more about the reason why RUN mode is not working with ProfiBus?
What is the EM?
Regarding: "However, could you be so kind and tell me more about the reason why RUN mode is not working with ProfiBus?

The EM is the same as you wrote in the first Q, the profibus EM.
If you have had an eqvivalent profibus interface for your PC then communication might work even in RUN, normally it works when testing /running on ethernet or serial and your DSC/PLC is connnected to the PC as well.
In the Panel Builder you have two ways of testing your application before downloading to the panel, simulate and RUN, simulate is wothout communication while RUN tries to communicate as well.
