PCA aspects do not work on connectivity servers
Hi Experts,
my Real, Bool etc. PCA objects do not work on Connectivity servers 1 & 2 (PLC Connect structure). Connectivity servers are used for tight data integration (ABB PLCs) and 3 & 4 for PLC connect data. Is there any reason why they come with error once I try to open them?
I have discovered that the ABB DA Surrogate OPC server do not have this same data points available than the ones accesible on Aspec Server 1 on 2. The PCA points are easlly accessible on AS servers but not on CS1 & 2. Is that the reason why the PCA aspects can not be open? I need this data to be available for History Data collector installed on CS1 and CS2.

Rob's probably right!
Check [Workplace Structure]Web System Workplace:System Event List for "Installation problem..." events that are generated when workplace is unable to find necessary components in runtime.
PLC Connect share components with SoftPoint Server and it has happened in the past that one kit disturb the other. Search Manual Installation guide for correct procedure - possibly remove both and start fresh.
Simple rule of thumb: with few exceptions* every piece of software goes everywhere in the system!
Database engines like Oracle, SQL Server, etc only need to be installed in one or maybe two servers.
DCT's -> Analyze -> Analyze Software is warmly recommended. Use it to verify that all SW is loaded in all nodes.
Hi All,
thanks for all replays and help. The problem was caused by missing PLC Connect exteniosn. Once the extension was installed it was possible to access all OPC data.
