Cannot run "Freelance Controller Emulator Administrator Page" in IE
I'm a new in Freelance and have some problem. I have v9.2 installed in Demo mode and I try to walk through a tutorial vids but despite many efforts I cannot run "Freelance Controller Emulator Administrator Page" in web browser. As you can see in attached screenschot I can ping controller adress 127.0.0.1 but when it comes to load a web page i get message about missing program... I set up my system and Freelance accordnig to manual (at least I think so) and this topic:
As shown I have OS, IE, and Java proper versions installed (according to manual). System was installed today on virtual machine only to run Freelance, have no antyvir, firewall is disabled.
I would be very grateful for pointing me out what I'm missing.

check if the Emulator Service is running in Windows.
Usually the Freelance Setup would set it to auotstart. If after installation you did a reboot then it would be started automatically. But maybe some security software on your PC prevents it from running.
Open the Windows "Services" tool (which you can find under Administrative Tools of Windows) and search for "Freelance Controller Emulator Service". If you don't find it, reboot in case you did not do it after the Freelance installation. If you did a reboot and still do not find it, restart the Freelance Setup and choose the repair option.
If you find the "Freelance Controller Emulator Service", check if it is started. If not, right click on the entry and select "Start" in the context menu. Make sure that it starts. The status line should read "Started".
I also recommend to set the IP address of the Emulator in the CBF Network Configuration to 127.0.0.1. Use this IP address for every Freelance component (Control Builder F, DigiVis, Emulator, Trendserver,..) that runs on your computer.
As Dieter replied if emulator services started and running, firewall and antivirus status as required then nothing can stop emulator running. Try few things…
- In windows explored type http://127.0.0.1:8888/ instead of 127.0.0.1:888 as mentioned in manual. Tried in virtual machine simply with 127.0.0.1:888 and get same result as you get. While typing with http://127.0.0.1:8888/ emulator page appears ;)
