We observed the following behavior of the FCB version 4.5 when editing a circuit with virtual connections:
Objective:
- Use Cut and Paste functionality (with Replace&Paste... - Button) to modify Names used in the circuit. The virtual connections of the circuit should be unchanged.
What we do:
- Cut all PC elements of the circuit CTRL-X Paste CTRL-V Press Replace&Paste... - Button and modify Names Press OK Button As soon as you change a single Name, TC/CI terminal, Symbol or DB Connection in the circuit within the "Replace and Paste PC Section" - Dialog and you leave the dialog with OK in order to paste the replaced
As soon as you change a single Name, TC/CI terminal, Symbol or DB Connection in the circuit within the "Replace and Paste PC Section" - dialog and you leave the dialog with OK the FCB modifies all virtual connections. The FCB embeds the names of the virtual connections with angle brackets '<' and '>' as if they were symbols. The pasted code is herewith unusable.
Further observations:
- Virtual connections in circuits are treated correctly if you do not perform any Replace function during Paste. Virtual connections in node structure mode are treated correctly during Replace&Paste... (i.e. embeded in angle brackets).
- Does anybody know how to avoid this ? Does anybody know a workaround for this behavior ?
