- Always use the Hardware Support CD delivered together with the AS140 to install the drivers needed for the built-in hardware.

Use the hardware support disk delivered with your AS 140 to install the Network adapter. Don’t forget to use an Account with Administrator rights.
Step1: When you want to use the TCP/IP Protocol you first need to change the PC name to a valid name:
a) Start>Settings>Control Panel>Network
=> Message 'Windows NT Networking is not installed.
Do you want to install it now?'
--> Press No and the Network dialog will be displayed.
b) Select Tab 'Identification' and press the button 'Change...'
--> Change the computer name from 'AS 140' to 'AS140' or another valid name.
c) Close the dialog and allow to restart the PC.
Step2: Create a directory called C:_installintel82559 on your AS 140
Step3: Insert the Hardware Support CD delivered together with your AS 140.
Step4: From CD copy the contents of directory 'Network-I82559' to the directory 'C:_installintel82559' on your AS 140 and remove the CD afterwards.
Step5: Start>Settings>Control Panel>Network
=> Message 'Windows NT Networking is not installed.
Do you want to install it now? '
--> Press Yes
Step6: In the next dialog mark the check box appropriate for you and press Next
Step7: In the dialog now shown press button 'Select from List'.
In the list shown afterwards do not select any network adapter, but press the button 'Have disk' directly.
Step8: Enter C:_installintel82559 when you are asked for the software provided by the software or hardware manufacturer in the 'Insert Disk' dialog.
Step9: In the 'Select OEM OPTION' dialog select 'Intel(R) Pro Adapter' and press Next
Step10: Select the protocols appropriate for your purposes and continue
Step11: When Message 'Setup needs to copy some Windows NT files' is displayed, specify directory C:i386
Step12: Finish the installation
Do not reboot the PC at this stage!
Step13: Within Windows NT Explorer double click the file C:SP5sp5i386.exe to start the re-installation of service pack 5
Step14: Allow the PC to restart
Step15: Check that the Network is working correctly.
Your network adapter will be marked as Intel(R) 82559 Fast Ethernet LAN on Motherboard

PROBLEM DESCRIPTION
You use Start>Settings>Control Panel>Network to install the Windows NT Networking.
Within the Network Setup Wizard you use the 'Start Search' button to find the Net-work Adapter. The adapter 'Intel 82557-based 10/100 Ethernet PCI Adapter' will be offered. If you then select this adapter and continue the installation as normal, your PC will most likely end up in a blue screen dump after restarting the PC. The error message on the blue screen states IRQ_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL for program ntoskrnl.exe.
Avoid this procedure!
When you are already in the state of the blue screen dump. Please contact: ABB Logistics Center, to get your AS 140 reset to original state as delivered from ABB.
