- Handling of User Disk
The On-line Builder uses the so-called UserDisk to store information about PC Variable Names, Page Header, Document Header and Paging Information.
We recommend to regularly backup your User Disk.
The reason is that in some cases it may happen that you loose data in the User Disk, e.g.
• when you translate a PC program and the User Disk is open and you accidently pull off your PC’s power cable or switch off the PC
• you stored your User Disk (containing also *.TB, *.TC files) on the backup area on the target system.
Then you use an old version of ONB that did not support storing of these files yet, and you copy the User Disk once again to the backup area, you loose these files.
• you translate a PC program and the harddisk of your PC runs full.
There are two ways to backup your User Disk:
• Backup the User Disk in the backup area on the target system using command SUDAS (Save User Disk Application Segments on target).
• Dump your complete application (DUAP) containing also the User Disk. When you have specified the space for your User Disk Application Segments in the DIMPC command, the DUAP will automatically dump also the User Disk.
If you have a problem with the User Disk, you can then restore it using your backup.
