Printer handler and parameter
A description of this resolution:
- Software update to version 8.0F
Log XON/XOFF has been realized from V8.0F on so that almost all printers commercially available will correctly communicate with CP under the printer handler.
When updating from V7.x up to version V8.0E inclusively it has to be checked whether the parameter "organisation" was used. With some printer types (e. g. Siemens ink jet printer) the problem could be solved by confi entry Tally.
"Printer handler and parameter " resolves the following:
Connecting printers to CP under Printer Handler (not "Tally") may cause problems with regard to the characters processing speed since V8.0 versions do not include the parameter "organisation" that can be used for that speed control.
Characters are not duly output (characters disappear).
The problem can occur in versions V8.0 up to V8.0E inclusively if a printer is connected (not "Tally"). If this parameter "organisation" was made use in V7.x the problem would also have to be expected to occur after updating to V8.0.
The underlying cause is:
- Use of thirt-party manufactured printer
Parameter for speed control of character output on a printer is missing.
