Preventing Unit Acquire or Release Problems for MOD 300 Units
Problem:Solution
- Proper Setting for the FP_INITIAL_UNITM_REQUEST_TIMEOUT Environment Variable
The value of the FP_INITIAL_UNITM_REQUEST_TIMEOUT environment variable should be set to the number of milliseconds required to normally acquire or release a unit plus a buffer of a few seconds. Testing of the MOD300 system has shown that 10000 is a good value for this variable. This variable can be set or modified via the Control Panel, i.e., Control Panel -> System -> Advanced Tab -> Environment Variables target. After setting the value, reboot the station to make the change take effect. Setting the value only has to be done once.
- Errors When a Produce IT Batch Recipe Tries to Acquire or Release a MOD 300 Unit
The Produce IT unit manager by default waits 4000ms for a unit acquire or release before returning with an error to the RPD. This is not long enough when the control system is the MOD 300.
