- Solution to the problem
There are two alternatives to correct the problem,
- run the supplied .reg file: DisableDHCPMediaSense.reg, and the PC will not be sensitive to whether the TCP/IP cable is connected or not (this file is available in SolutionsBank/DownloadBank - however with another file name, search for 3BSE029867C0002.reg ).
or,
- 1. Use Registry Editor (Regedt32.exe from Start->Run menu in Windows) to view the following key in the registry:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters
Add the following registry value:
Value Name: DisableDHCPMediaSense
Data Type: REG_DWORD -Boolean
Set the value to 1
2. Restart your computer.
Note, that this has only been verified when you are locally logged on to the PC. If you are logged on via a Domain controller you will have dependencies to the domain controller.

"Process Portal A2.1 - Connecting or Disconnecting of TCP/IP problems" resolves the following:
- Process Portal A2.1 - Connecting or Disconnecting of TCP/IP problems
If you start the PC without a connected network cable, and then connect the cable, a message appears and wrong indication is shown in the System Status Viewer. From the message it seems, that the connectivity server is stopped, but it is the aspect server. Plugging in or unplugging a network cable to the TCP/IP network stops the aspect server after about 1 minute. This is automatically repaired, when the cable is removed or replaced again.
The same happens the other way round, that means if you start the PC with connected network and disconnect it. Hence, you are not allowed to change the status of the network.
When using a single PC with aspect server, connectivity server and client within one system, the network must not influence the Operate IT system.
