‘Lost clusters’ during booting of an SES
A description of this resolution:
- A requester SES may only be shut down in a controlled manner.
1. Avoiding the error
To boot the requester SES in a controlled manner, proceed as follows:
In Window 1, 2, 3 terminate all activity and go to the highest menu level.
In Window 4 check that the live monitoring of the network is signalling “Paused”.
Boot the requester station.
2. Remedying the effects
Ensure that no requester SES requires access to the server (information to all users).
Boot the gateway/server via MSDOS and run the program CHKDSK for all hard disks and partitions:
CHKDSK C: /F
CHKDSK D: /F
CHKDSK E: /F (where there is a second hard disk available)
'‘Lost clusters’ during booting of an SES' resolves the following:
- Service Station
If a file transfer to the gateway/server is active on a requester SES and if the SES is booted at that precise moment, so called 'lost clusters' can occur.
