GCM in keying mode cannot be operated centrally
A description of this resolution:
- Handling to remedy and avoid the error:
1. Remedying the error
When the function is permanently blocked (GCM in keying mode), call up the function in the confi-dialog, select a parameter and close the confi-dialog without making any changes or clicking on SAVE. This will disconnect the GCM and terminate the keying mode.
In the case of other GCMs and IDMs the processing function removes the block after a maximum of two minutes. If this amount of time is not available, proceed as for a GCM in keying mode.
2. Avoiding the error
When selecting an IDM or GCM for central operation do not call up a GCM operator display on the same operator panel using the key sequence Insert display ¨ Bar.
"GCM in keying mode cannot be operated centrally" resolves the following:
- Operator Station
An individual drive control module (IDM) or a group control module (GCM) cannot be selected for central operation for two minutes. A GCM in keying mode is permanently blocked.
Neither the virtual operator header nor the LEDs on the film keyboard display the status of the function selected for central operation.
Operator commands are no longer passed on to the process.
When central operation (with reference to operation) is disconnected the function operated previously cannot be re-selected for central operation for two minutes.
GCMs which were in keying mode when the error occurred may be permanently excluded from being re-selected for central operation.
A repeated attempt to select results in the message: OPERATION FROM ANOTHER OP
The underlying cause is:
- System image address changed
When a GCM operator display is called up using the key sequence Insert display ¨ Bar, the system image address which is used for the operation of an IDM or a GCM is changed. As a result the function remains blocked when the central operation is terminated.
