RUM lines of peripheral cars
- RUM lines are only permitted with redundant P-cards.
When the redundant unit of a unit pair (CAA 10, CAB 10 or CAR 11) is delinked and is to be used at its previous mounting position as a separate unit, then a RUM line to the previous redundancy partner – if present – must be removed.
The same applies when another unit is to be linked to the same mounting position.
If an individual unit (CAA 10, CAB 10 or CAR 11) is to be provided with a redundancy partner, a RUM line must be connected between these cards in order to achieve quick activation of the card which was passive up to this point in the case of a redundancy switch-over.
The exact position of the RUM lines can be found in the respective Technical Information sheet.
RUM lines enable quick redundancy switch-over for the output units CAA 10, CAB 10 and CAR 11. If the active unit causes a redundancy switch-over, the level in the RUM line changes, thus activating the drivers of the units which were passive up to this point.
Two separate units may not be connected by a RUM line.
The software is not capable of recognizing a RUM line!
