The latest service packs and HotFixes for allFreelance software versions are available free of charge via Internet:
Installation
The following steps must be carried out in orderto update the system:
Step 1
Check whether the system has the current Service Pack for the version installed (if indoubt, check using DigiCheck).
Compare your Service Pack with column 4 in the table above.
Example: If you are using the basic version V6.1,Service Pack 4 must be installed.
If the Service Pack is not installed, this mustbe done before the HotFix can be installed (in this example where V6.1SP4 is being used, this would be HotFix 6).
If your system already has the current Service Pack, move on to Step 2.
Step 2
Install the HotFix listed in the table using the corresponding Readme file.
Once the HotFix is installed, all the affectedcomponents will have to be reloaded using 'Boot EPROM Download'.
This download procedure must be carried out using DigiToolConfigure and/or ControlBuilder F Configure.
Note
In addition to this Customer Note, each of theaffected components contains a separate packing slip which clearly describes the stepsnecessary for solving this problem.

- General System Information
Valid for software versions: all
Certain serial numbers of the
- Freelance2000 CPUs (DCP 02, DCP 10, DFC 01, DFC 02) and the
- Control IT AC 800F CPUs ( PM 802F)
may run into a problem during the 'Boot EPROMDownload' and/or the operating system (OS) loading process.
Both procedures are required for any upgrade/downgrade.
Symptoms and cause:
- Once the 'Boot EPROM Download' procedure has been triggered, the red failure LED on the CPU starts flashing. The application then waits up to 12 minutes and quits via a timeout.
The 'old' content of the EPROM was not deleted correctly and consequently the new content cannot be loaded. The CPU remains down and the problem can only be corrected by Service staff.
In addition to 1, the following applies to the FieldController CPUs (DFC 01, DFC 02, PM 802F):The operating system of these components is also stored in the loadable EPROM, so the problem may also occur when the operating system is loaded.
Once the loading process has started, a message box appears with the message: 'E_COM_BOOT_REMOTE_ABORTED'.
In the P-tree the resource maintains the status 'no operating system'. Retrying might lead to success, but could also result in the same error message.
This only affects components with the followingserial numbers:
CPU TypeSerial numberDCP 024660 or higher
DCP 105250 or higher
DFC 01192 or higher
DFC 02800 or higher
PM 802F1400 or higher
The serial numbers can be found and read off thepacking slip of the component as follows:
Beneath the barcode, the component, the order number and the serial number are listed insequence.
