When replacing Model B controllers with S800 I/O , how are the existing termination panels integrated?
- Conversion cables
CauseThe existing Model B & SC Controller termination panels can be utilized with S800 I/O. A description of this resolutionYour existing 6050N Analog Termination Panels provide 16 analog inputs and 8 analog outputs. Therefore, you will need two AI810 Analog Input Modules, one A0810 Analog Output Module,Each existing 6051N Digital Termination Panel provides 24 channels which can be configured to be inputs or outputs depending on the I/O module arrangement/mix. Therefore, you may have to use any one of the following combinations: • two DI814 S800 I/O Digital Input Modules with two TU814 MTUs,– Example: 24 digital inputs • two DO814 S800 I/O Digital Output Modules with two TU814 MTUs,– Example: 24 digital outputs • one DI814 and one DO814 with two TU814 MTUs,– Example: 12 digital inputs and 12 digital outputs • two DI814s and one DO814 with three TU814 MTUs,Click on this link to see the Advant OCS ® Product Guide and refer to Section 3.3 6000B/6200B Controller Migration InformationProblemWill the original termination panels still require power and the digital termination panels will still require the opto isolators.SolutionThis migration procedure makes it possible to plug the controller end of you existing 6002CController I/O cable into the mating end of a prefabricated I/O cable which plugs directly intothe Module Termination Unit (MTU) off the S800 I/O Station. No changes to the OPTO22s or to the power requirements.
