IC_SetNumAttribute (Internal error)
- Replace faulty CD (Compact Disk)
A variety of problems have been seen in the Quality Lab loading the OS1.7/1B9 CDs (this is the General Released version). The majority of the problems have been traced to either marginal quality CDs and/or suspect CD writers. Be wary of CDs that have a blueish tint to them, they seem to cause the most problems. The manifistation of these problems will be stations not loading correctly. The most common symptom will be the following errors in the swinstall.log file located in /var/adm/sw:
When this error is seen, the load is suspect and the station should be reloaded.
Additionally, we have seen one CD load correctly to a particular station, but fail on another with the above mentioned problem. The suspicion there is that the CD drives were of a different manufacturer (two separate drives were used). We are awaiting confirmation from the customer if the problem follows a particular drive.
The last indication we have seen of corrupt CDs are errors in either the swinstall.log or swagent.log files that mention particular filesets are corrupt. These errors will say something to the effect of fileset ABB-DYB.RUN (for example) is corrupt and was not able to be loaded. Again, the station will need to be reloaded.Problems
