The system status shows available but never goes active, with print flag activated on the ES the indication is a failure to load the DB due to not enough memory. This can occur on all advant nodes.
- Memory Pools on Advant Stations
The RTAB is loaded from files in /products/data/standard/pu520load/ , these include the file pu510_pools.x which sets up the pools for database load and runtime operation. There is a utility to modify the pools file, it is 'mputil', this file is not provided with a normal system load. This is not the mputil that runs on the RTAB!.
Problems with pools:
On large systems, and systems with multiple configurators, an error down loadiing the database could be related to POOL 3 being too small. The indications: the system status shows available but never goes active, with print flag activated on the ES the indication is a failure to load the DB due to not enough memory. This can occur on all advant nodes.
Also on ES nodes wth large databases, a problem can occur with POOL 0 being too small. The indication is that a node level install always fails by reporting problems opening the file ADVANT.CF. With a print flag on, the station shows the install of the node actually completes, the processing of the export data fails while trying to load ADVANT.CF into the RTAB POOL 0.
Do not rely on the system performance page to show the pools filling up. In both cases of pools problems, the pools never filled, and seemed to have plenty of room
