Display Builder OS1.6/0p2 Hangs
- Free up disk space
The Display Builder go into a tight loop, impairing the station.
Either the graphic file you are attempting to open is corrupt (typically the .ds file is incomplete) or your /var LVM is full.
An incomplete .ds file most likely would be caused by an incomplete file transfer (tape or ftp). If the .ds file looks ok, the Logical Volume /var most likely is full. This has been seen on stations that have smaller disks and have had both p1 and p2 loaded onto them.
Patch management isn't as effective in OS1.6 and previous patches are no longer removed during a patch install. This causes the /var LVM to quickly fill up. The Display Builder uses the /var/tmp directory as a scratch directory. If the /var LVM is close to full, the Display Builder will hang in the manner described above.
- OS1.6/0p2 Display Builder hangs either OS or OS/ES.
