800xA 5.1 Harmony Connect SQL Server 2008 Automated Installation Error
Automated installation of SQL 2008 Standard for Harmony can occasionally fail. This is a necessary step for the installation of a harmony connect server. The following errors are generated. An error message directs the user to a bootstrap file.Symptoms:
"The Windows account does not exist and cannot be provisioned as a SQL Server system administrator."
The automated installation does not always seem to be able to set the Service Account as the SQL user. Resolution:
Install SQL 2008 Standard for Harmony from the cmd prompt (instructions detailed below). The installation will automatically work once the command is entered correctly. Details are important when entering the command. Pay attention to spelling, slashes and spaces. To resume automatic installation after the SQL installation exit the program and resume installation.
1.) Open a cmd prompt as administrator.
2.) Determine what drive your installation cd or media is registered as (G:, E:, etc.).
3.) Use the command “chdir /d” and then specify the directory:
<drive:>800xA Connectivites\800xA for Harmony
When the command succesfully works you should see the next prompt reflect the designated directory.
4.) Once you are in the right directory run this command:
InstallSQL2008Full <domain>\800xAService <domain>\800xAService <service account password>
* do not include the <> in the command; include spaces.
