"Error Analyzing Start Values" when trying to Download with CBM
When trying to download to a controller with Control Builder, you encounter the following dialog after the change analysis is done:
After acknowledging this dialog, you are presented with the following (contents of the window may differ), but you are not able to Continue the download:
The error occurs whether you select Warm or Cold application restart. Initializing and clearing the controller memory also has no effect.Symptoms:
This error message is thrown when the cold retain files are corrupt, and the CBM compiler cannot successfully analyze them. To prevent corrupt files from being downloaded to the controller, the download is interrupted.
To correct this problem, it is necessary to not only delete the cold retain files from the local disk of all Control Builder stations, but the files must be removed from the Aspect Directory as well.
Delete the files with extension .CRV and .CRS from the folder "C:\ABB Industrial IT Data\Engineer IT Data\Control
Builder M\Projects\<ProjectName>" from all machines that have Control Builder installed:
Delete the same files from the Aspect Directory by use of the FSD tool. Note that if there are multiple applications, this
step may have to be performed for each application:
Once all local and Aspect Directory files have been deleted, it should then be possible to download, and new Cold Retain files will be generated. It would then be a good idea to perform a consistency check on the project to ensure no other files have become corrupt.
