System 800xA SV 5.1 Rev. A, Windows Server 2008R2 SP1, 64-bit. ODBC Configuration error.
The Data Access and Reports manual for SV 5.1 (64-bit), P. 433, describes setting up an ODBC remote client to connect to a server. 3BUF001094-510 B
"For (x86) machines, access Windows Control Panel on the remote (non- Information Management) node and select Administrative Tools > Data Sources (ODBC)"
..........will yield the wrong path to the executable, running the 64-bit version instead of the 32-bit version. Following the Cause/Resolution information will yield the correct results.Symptoms:
Although the configuration information in the manuals indicate to utilize the ODBC Config tool to setup this connection, the version accessed from the Start > Administrative Tools > Data Sources (ODBC), may utilize the wrong version. The following information indicates how to access the correct version.
This directory/program........C:\Windows\SysWOW64\odbcad32.exe.........is the 32 bit version of the ODBC interface configuration window.(used for setup of the ODBC configuration for SV5.1 64-bit version)
This directory/program.......C:\Windows\Syster32\ocbcad32.exe...........is the 64bit version of the ODBC interface configuration window.(DO NOT USE THIS VERSION)
After verifying that the ODBC configuration conformed to using the correct congiruation tool, (32-bit), the Reports were tested, and were generated correctly. Refer to the instructions in the System 800xA Post Installation manual, 3BUA000156-511, Section 19, Creating an ODBC Data Source for Oracle Database.
