Error messages in the License Status Viewer: Error: 0x4ABF0
The customer reports that they have just built an Engineering System using 800xA version 5.1. Following installation and while running the system, they repeatedly get two error messages in the License Status Viewer:
Error: 0x4ABF0 Message: Unable to contact CLS Server:
Error: 0x4ABF0 Message:T he client has been granted temporary licenses
The customer says that they have verified that the MID USB key is available and that it matches the MID in the license file. They have also tried rebooting the machine several times and moving the MID to other USB ports without success in resolving the problem. They said that they have also gone through and checked the post installation guide and cannot find any issues with the way that the system was installed. They have installed the license (see attachment), which is a valid permanent 800xA license for version 5.1. Also attached is a screen capture of the License Status Viewer showing the error messages that they are getting on the system.Symptoms:
Checking authentication properties for Default Web Site in IIS MMC revealed Anonymous Authentication is DISABLED, which will break IIS. This is caused by the installation of EITHER Harmony Connect or SQL 2008.
Question remains, is this a bug in HC (should not disable anonymous access), a by-product of SQL installation that was not part of the installation script in earlier versions, or a bug in the CLS IIS authentication requirements (i.e. CLS should not make any anonymous calls to IIS)?
Anonumous Authentication is disabled by default in the installation. this causes issues when installing SQL.
In previous versions this was not an issue, when installing Harmony Connect 5.1 this needs to be enabled so SQL can be installed properly.
